Feeling really down this week. The end of sixteen years of planning a celebration with Archie…and I had to do it alone. Tonight I just wanted to come home, fall into bed and forget the world. I thought I’d check the blog and found this draft I started last week. I found it encouraging (sorta forgot I started it). I began it after a tour–I love giving tours at work and talking about how awesome our crew is. Maybe you will find it encouraging, too:
Have YOU had the opportunity to build others up and brag on them, not because you had to, but because you can see how special they are? You wish the world would shine a spot light on the individuals around you because you know they are irreplaceable and amazing but they often blend in with everyone else and their light is hidden by the ho-hum of day to day living?
Next question: Do you LOOK for the opportunity? Think about it: what would your work place be like if everyone was seeking to build up their neighbor, SINCERELY looking for the hidden gem inside? Wouldn’t you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go to work?
Could you be the starting point?
Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Challenge: Don’t ask yourself that question, just be the starting point.
There maybe a hurting person that you may never see the wounds but is quietly bleeding to death, waiting for words of hope, kindness, and encouragement.
Be a healer. “See” you on Monday.
